1. What is biomimicry? Biomimicry is the Imitation of Life.
2. Why are termites a great subject for biomimicry research? Termites are a great subject for biomimicry research because they break down microorganisms into ethanol, which can be used as fuel. We're trying to do that, so we're learning from them.
3. What is an enzyme? An enzyme is a type of catalyst. What is a catalyst? Something that speeds up the process of something.
4. What is cellulosic material? The leftover material of plants that we don't eat, and is usually wasted.
5. Why would cellulosic ethanol be more sustainable and efficient than biofuels using corn or sugar cane? Because we eat corn and sugar cane, and we need that, plus we waste a lot of the corn and sugar cane, and don't use the parts that we don't eat. But ceullulosic ethanol is extra anyway so we wouldn't be wasting anything.
