Blog 2

1. sustainability: Sustainability is reusing things, using them again and again in kind of a cycle.
2. freegans: Freegans are people who live off dumpsters, and are vegans.
3. stewardship: Being responsible when it comes to the earth (picking up someone else's trash.)
4. biomimicry: Biomimicry is Imitating Life.
5. ecological footprint: An ecological footprint is the footprint we leave on society, formed from our use of fuels/the earth's natural resources etc.
6. overshoot (as it relates to supply and demand): Overshoot is the gap between supply an demand.

B. What does this equation mean? supply & demand
area x bioproductivity = biocapacity [SUPPLY]
population x consumption per person x footprint intensity = ecological footprint

C. What is the significance of the year 1987?
The first year that the demand was larger than the supply.

D. What happened on October 6, 2007?
We used up our resources for 2007.
